BEFORE THE ARKANSAS WORKERS' COMPENSATION COMMISSION CLAIM NO. H304280 LARRY M. ZINTEL, EMPLOYEE CLAIMANT PULASKI COUNTY ROAD & BRIDGE, EMPLOYER RESPONDENT AAC RICK MANAGEMENT SERVICES, INSURANCE CARRIER/TPA RESPONDENT OPINION FILED MAY 21, 2024 Upon review before the FULL COMMISSION in Little Rock, Pulaski County, Arkansas. Claimant represented by the HONORABLE MARK A. PEOPLES, Attorney at Law, Little Rock, Arkansas. Respondents represented by the HONORABLE MELISSA WOOD, Attorney at Law, Little Rock, Arkansas. ORDER The parties in the above-styled matter have filed a joint MOTION TO STAY PROCEEDINGS/APPEAL. The Full Commission grants the parties’ motion. An administrative law judge filed an opinion on March 5, 2024. The administrative law judge found, among other things, that the claimant proved he sustained a compensable injury. The administrative law judge awarded medical treatment and temporary total disability benefits. The respondents filed a timely notice of appeal to the Full Commission. The parties have now filed a joint MOTION TO STAY PROCEEDINGS/APPEAL and state that they have reached a tentative

ZINTEL - H304280 2 settlement agreement. The parties state, among other things, that an “automatic stay” in United States Bankruptcy Court “precludes the workers’ compensation claim from moving forward without permission to do so.” The parties do not cite any supporting authority and have not submitted an order from United States Bankruptcy Court. Nevertheless, the parties jointly pray that the claim be held in abeyance for a period of up to six months, and the parties ask that the pending appeal be reinstated should the claim not be resolved by Joint Petition settlement. The Full Commission therefore grants the parties’ joint motion. IT IS SO ORDERED. ___________________________________ SCOTTY DALE DOUTHIT, Chairman ___________________________________ M.
